College Foundation Course
2025 Edition
Entrepreneurship Instructors:
This online course is used to prepare student entrepreneurs for a business pitch at the end of your semester class (or for a school-wide event).
After your student entrepreneurs have developed a business plan or a business model canvas, this course teaches them how to:
- Focus on the information about their business that investors (judges) care most about;
- Organize that information in a way that is impactful; and
- Communicate effectively with investors (judges).
Please note, this course does not go into detail on how to develop a business model/plan or business model canvas.
Student Entrepreneurs:
You will learn how to create the three types of investor pitches you need to be successful when preparing for a business pitch competition and when raising capital in the real world:
1. Attention Grabber (Elevator Pitch)
2. Investment Summary (Read-me Pitch)
3. Slide Deck (Listen-to-me pitch)
By the end of this course, you will have an effective version of each.

Why Students Use This Course?
Without this course
Creating the three types of business pitches requires communicating many concepts about your business that investors (judges) care about. You need to learn, organize and distill these concepts in a way that makes sense to your audience. This can be difficult and time consuming.
With this course
You just follow the chapters and step-by-step instructions to learn the right concepts in the right order, so you don't waste time. As you watch video lessons, you will use templates/examples to build effective versions of your three types of business pitches.
